Rose McGowan, the star of popular films and the Witchy television program, Charmed, was in a serious car accident in 2007. After this tragic event, her face seemed to change quite dramatically. Many suspected that she got plastic surgery in order to deal with the after-effects of the accident. After all, these days, McGowan looks very different, and, to some people, she seems almost unrecognizable.
She had admitted that this accident left her with severe facial injuries, so who could blame her for trying to reverse the damage with the help of a skilled plastic surgeon?
It’s safe to say that most of us (who had her money and connections) would have taken the same step. McGowan was a great beauty, with masses of dark hair and delicate, sensual features. It’s very sad that she suffered in this car accident and that an actress, whose face is her fortune to a large extent, had to deal with facial injuries of this sort.
However, the question of whether or not she had plastic surgery is still up in the air…
Actresses rarely admit to going under the knife. They prefer to be viewed as natural beauties. So, it’s not always easy to get a straight answer about whether or not these women get nose jobs, lip augmentations and the like, in order to better meet society’s ideal of what the perfect beauty should be.
A Lip Augmentation Seems Likely
Actresses who’ve gotten significant levels of plastic surgery tend to develop similarities in terms of their looks. In other words, when they get certain procedures, such as lip augmentations, they begin to look somewhat alike. Therefore, it is easy to spot particular changes when comparing the before and after photographs. It does appear that Rose McGowan has had a lip augmentation, as her lips seem fuller than they were when she was younger.
Since our faces lose fullness as we age, having fuller lips in our third and fourth decades is often a clear sign that fillers have been injected. However, since McGowan hasn’t admitted to getting lip injections and or other forms of plastic surgery, before or after her car accident, our opinion is just that…an opinion.
The easiest way to form an opinion of your own is to look at pictures of McGowan prior to 2007 and then search for photographs that are more recent. While the natural aging process does cause changes to faces, the more fullness in certain areas, or a total absence of fine lines and wrinkles, seems to indicate plastic surgery or, at the least, Botox injections and fillers.
Women are free to look how they want to look. These days, it’s easier than ever to turn back the clock and to tweak one’s face with the help of non-invasive injections and full-on plastic surgery. However, it’s a slippery slope, as it’s easy to go too far with plastic surgery.
Aging gracefully doesn’t have one definition. It’s not always leaving yourself alone! Empowering yourself via plastic surgery may be your version of aging gracefully and feeling good about how you look.
